The latest hike I did was at Crystal Cove State Beach, but I wouldn’t really call it a hike—minus the steep trails down the bluff it was more of a long walk. We parked at Trader Joes on PCH and Reef Point, it clearly says ‘no beach parking’ but we got away with it. We walked down the coastline stopping every once in awhile to look at the tide pools—sea anemones, barnacles, guppies and lots of shore crabs. We reached one of the caves where we took a lot of cute pictures and then headed back up the bluff to head home. We stopped at the Shake Shack, which was delicious after our long walk. Our whole hike/walk was about 6-8 miles long. If you don’t want to walk that much, then I suggest paying for parking at Crystal Cover State Beach.
Tips from us to you:

Bring lots of sunscreen! Sport sunscreen because you will get sweaty!
Bring $15 to pay for close parking, or park in Trader Joes parking lot at your own risk!
We brought running shoes and flip-flops—when you’re walking on the bluffs the running shoes will come in handy. However on the beach, barefoot is the easiest and if you want to climb on the rocks to see the tide pools—you will need flip flops the rocks are sharp.
Bring money for food they have a few places to eat on the beach and on the bluff.
Don’t be on a time crunch, its really beautiful down there so take your time!
There are lifeguards on duty if you want to swim, but the water was freezing and has a lot of big rocks, which could be dangerous.
Thanks for reading! See you on my next adventure ♡
